What started as confidently detailed sketches in pen has emerged into a body of work shaped by a desire to grow and challenge myself. While much of my art still begins with ink, I have explored many of the fine arts, focusing most recently on watercolor. Although I am self taught, my art has been heavily influenced by the professional work experience it has afforded me. For three years, I was an artist for Trader Joe's, working primarily with chalk. This challenged me to consider, not only artistic technique, but most notably: how to communicate through my work. Advertising must always be clear and concise as it catches the eye. In the following years, I turned my attention to watercolor. My personal style has always gravitated toward nature, capturing the magical worlds of animals. This, along with a childhood entranced by Beatrix Potter and Jan Brett, unveiled a deep dream to illustrate children's books. While I've spent years working on commissions, bringing to life poems and concepts, this project remains a dream. I live in the Santa Ynez Valley with my creative and talented husband and our wonderfully imaginative daughter. I hope to continue telling stories through my art.
